Dr. Roan Gannon
Dr. Gannon joined Sand Mountain Family Practice Center PC on July 6, 2015.
Dr. Gannon attended UAB for his undergraduate studies, earning both his Emergency Medical Technician Intermediate certificate followed by his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science in 1996. He received his M.D. degree from UAB School of Medicine in 2012 and completed his residency in Family Medicine at UAB Huntsville Family Medicine Residency in May 2015. He is board certified in Family Medicine.
Prior to his career in Family Medicine, Dr. Gannon proudly served in the U.S. Army as a CH-47D Chinook helicopter pilot and instructor pilot. He is married to Dr. Laura Grostick, board certified Pediatrician with Marshall County Pediatrics. They have two daughters, Eleanor and Isabella, who love to play outside and swim in Lake Guntersville. He enjoys boating with his family, running, biking, and triathlon in his free time.
Dr. Gannon is excited to have joined Sand Mountain Family Practice Center PC and is accepting new pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients!
Dr. Wayne Peters
Dr. Wayne Peters graduated with high honors from Auburn University, then graduated from medical school at UAB. He completed a 3-year family practice residency from the College of Community Health Sciences in Tuscaloosa.
He was one of the founders of Sand Mountain Family Practice Center. He has previously been President of the Marshall County Medical Society and Chief of Staff at Marshall Medical Center South. He currently is one of the physicians at the Marshall Wound Center. He also has a special interest in dermatology and routinely does minor procedures in the office. He is a 4 star Blue Cross, Blue Advantage physician.
Dr. Peters is a Servant Care Leader at The Fellowship where he teaches an adult Sunday school class. He is married to Judy Peters and has three children and three grandchildren.
His patients have always been a priority in his life and he plans to continue his practice for several more years. His desire is to treat his patients as he would have his family treated. His goal is to provide quality medical care at an affordable price thus improving the health of all his patients.
Hailey Armstrong, FNP-C
Hailey Armstrong, FNP-C, joined Sand Mountain Family Practice PC in July of 2019.
Hailey graduated from Geraldine High School in 2003 then attended Snead State Community College obtaining her Associate's Degree in Nursing in 2007. In 2011, Hailey received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Jacksonville State University. She received her Master’s Degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Alabama in Birmingham in 2013. While attending graduate school as an RN, Hailey worked at Marshall Medical Center South on the Medical Surgical Unit and in Day Surgery. After receiving her degree as a Family Nurse practitioner, she has worked in family practice, emergency, and urgent care. Hailey is married to Russell and has 2 children, Ava and Kason. Hailey enjoys time with family, friends, and almost anything that involves being outside. She is looking forward to continuing care to her patients at SMFP as well as accepting new patients. Hailey feels strongly that this is where God led her and she is confident that this is where she will provide her patients with the best medical care possible for the rest of her career.
Allison F. Brewster, FNP-C
Allison F. Brewster FNP-C, joined Sand Mountain Family Practice PC in August 2022.
Allison was born and raised in Pelham, AL and moved to the Sand Mountain area in 2010. She graduated from UAB School of Nursing in 2010, worked as an ER/Trauma nurse at UAB for many years, and then locally as a home health nurse while completing her graduate degree. She completed her graduate degree with Honors in Nursing from Troy University, specializing in Family Medicine, in 2017. She has been board certified through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners since 2017. Allison has been practicing Family Medicine since 2017 and would be grateful for the opportunity to care for you and your family. She is currently accepting new patients of all ages.
Allison has been married to Robert Brewster since 2010 and the couple has three children. They stay active supporting her husband's coaching career and watching their children play various sports- softball, gymnastics, dance, volleyball, baseball, and flag football. When they are not at a sporting event, they love to travel and be outside swimming, hiking, and spending time with friends and family. The family has attended Church of the Highlands since early 2000 and Allison loves serving in the Haven ministry for special needs children and being a part of the First Responders team. Allison truly feels her patients' are God sent, thus so grateful for the opportunity to care for each and every person.
Tiffany Sparks, FNP-C
Tiffany Sparks, FNP-C, joined Sand Mountain Family Practice PC in January 2022.
Tiffany graduated from Boaz High School in 2006 then attended Snead State Community College majoring in Biology for 2 years. In 2011, Tiffany graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Jacksonville University. She practiced as a nurse for 5 years in the emergency room at Gadsden Regional and in the Pediatric ER at Huntsville Hospital. Tiffany received her Master's Degree as a dual certified nurse practitioner with Family and Adult-Gerontology Acute Care in 2018 from the University of South Alabama. She has worked in emergency departments, urgent care clinics, and trauma services. Tiffany is married to Stephen and has 2 children, Skylar and Avery. Tiffany enjoys shopping and spending time with her friends and family. She has a newfound love for farm life where she has chickens and horses. Tiffany is very thankful God answered her prayers for a stable job where she gets to see her family daily. She is looking forward to the continuing care of her current patients and is accepting new patients.
